**Welcome to the Brisbane Geeks Book Club!** We are an active book club focused on fantasy and science fiction. Each month we meet to discuss a book of the month, voted for by the members. **Why join?** * Connect with like-minded readers and share your passion for fantasy and science fiction. * Expand your literary horizons with diverse and thought-provoking selections. * Participate in lively discussions and debates about your favourite books and authors. **Do I have to have read the book to attend?** * We encourage everyone to read the book, but it’s completely okay if you haven’t! We are a very relaxed group and you won’t be shunned if you didn’t get to read it. **What books will we be reading?** * We select books on a rotating cycle of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, and Miscellaneous (which is often fantasy/sci-fi adjacent). * The specific books are selected by a poll. The poll is typically open from around 5 weeks ahead of the event, and is open for about a week. Keep an eye out on the comments section to find a link to the poll for this month’s book! **When and where do you meet?** * We meet on the first Friday of every month in Vapiano’s restaurant in Brisbane city. * You’ll usually find us on the upper floor, and we’ll post in the comments which table we’re at. If you can’t find us, just put a post in the comments, and let us know. * We officially start from 6:00pm, but some of us are often there earlier. It’s also okay if you arrive a little late. We’re usually there until around 8:00pm.
