Learn and play co-op board game Earthborne Rangers, in Victoria Park

We invite you to **play around & find out\*** how much fun and solidarity comes from playing together at a table in a beautiful park, forming new social groups and stimulating the mind and imagination. Free and volunteer-powered. In Earthborne Rangers you explore a world with optimistic “solarpunk” themes as you work as a team to succeed together. ER is like Dungeons & Dragons but a nice change from grim dungeon-crawling and disaster-fighting, and has more structure, less improvisation. Learn more about ER [here](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/342900/earthborne-rangers). Lifelong game designer Matthew Ford will teach and play. The first half gives you the general idea. After a short break you can continue into more depth for the next half. You will get invited to events for continued intermediate play. Step 1: RSVP to this event and **fill out the form at [this link](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Z31irtO0tZe8dIW7pxdrY2tKaYp8sdoH5XIoUVOffT0/edit)** to state when you would prefer to play. Step 2: **Wait until we send you a message** via Meetup and email stating which time slot we booked you into. Step 3: At your time slot, use the "how to find us" section-- please read it carefully, don't just put destination into a map app. Look for Matthew in a blue hat and gray beard. Free event. Nothing to bring or prepare. Come as you are, even if you know absolutely nothing about it. **We welcome absolutely everyone and ensure a supportive and inclusive atmosphere**. We've face-to-face taught games to over 1000 people of every kind-- join us! Read all this event info and comments carefully both ahead of time and **just before you attend,** as our location and method may change slightly. **How to find us at The Lookout in Victoria Park:** * [From QUT Kelvin Grove campus](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mhSbmU82uMWKtQMD6ofhV0vuypU_9gMwybbtNEj6Z_s) * [From Centenary Aquatic Centre in Spring Hill](https://docs.google.com/document/d/15odzo0s6OsFT0NfyFWeSRbNZRLMkfemD8JOMetsxu20) \* Bonus info for all who care: As stadium developers approach Victoria Park/Barrambin, they will **find out** how much our community values this special place. Two promise-breaking Olympic stadiums are slated to be built in Victoria Park. Let's **help them find out** why they had better leave this park as undisturbed as possible. We are not led by [www.savevictoriapark.com](http://www.savevictoriapark.com/) or the [Goori Camp Embassy](https://www.instagram.com/gooricampembassy/) but those are a good way to learn more. Hey stadium developers, here we are! Play Around and Find Out! :)

Wednesday Conder/Gordon walk - off leash ovals and mountain views

Bridget will lead this dog-friendly and people-friendly walk through Conder and Gordon offering long and short options. The walk includes two large off leash ovals, a dog paddling opportunity, pretty mountain and lake views, and a longish stretch following a little creek. It's a flat, easy route of about 5.5 km with paved options along the way - except across some grassy ovals. Expect it to take up to 2 hours to complete with a group. However there is also the option of a shorter version - missing the Point Hut Pond loop if you prefer - totalling about 3 km. The walk starts and ends behind the petrol station at the Lanyon Market Place (the local Conder shopping centre), which has plenty of free parking and a dog-friendly venue for our after-walk coffee addicts. You can see more detail about the walk and a google map of the route on our [website](https://www.canberradogwalks.com.au/conder-gordon-walk/). Important info: * You walk entirely at your own risk and you are wholly responsible for your own, and your dog's, behaviour; by rsvping 'yes' to this walk you understand and agree to this condition. * All off-leash activities are at the discretion of the walk guide. If for any reason they feel any dog should be back on lead, please respect their decision, as they are trying to ensure everyone has a pleasant experience. * We ask $7.50 per adult to be paid by card to the guide at the beginning of the walk - children (under 18) walk free of charge. The charge helps cover our meetup subscription, insurance, internet, petrol, and other costs. We will gladly refund this if you are not happy for any reason. * For more information about how we operate our walks, go to our [FAQ page](https://www.canberradogwalks.com.au/canberra-walks-guided-walks-faqs/).

50+ Filmmakers/Actors Gather Every Wednesday - Join Us!

Join us every **Wednesday at 5 PM** at the Emporium food court (located behind Grill’d Burger Restaurant in the CBD, not near Melbourne Station) for a dynamic networking event tailored for filmmakers, actors, and film enthusiasts. Afterward, we continue the evening with Happy Hour drinks at a nearby bar and a chance to grab dinner together. Understanding that schedules vary, feel free to join at any time that suits you. Rain or shine, our community has gathered every week for the past year, maintaining a consistent and welcoming environment. Our group has grown remarkably, with a **weekly turnout of over 50 participants**, blending newcomers with regulars to create a vibrant, diverse community. Feel free to bring friends interested in filmmaking; it’s a great way to introduce new faces to our expanding network. Whether you’re a writer, actor, animator, or independent filmmaker, come share your experiences, discuss current projects, or chat about favorite films. This event fosters connections among like-minded individuals, encourages friendships, and opens doors for collaboration. At **7 PM**, we move to The Carlton Club, a five-minute walk away, where we continue networking in a more formal rooftop setting over drinks and food. This change of venue offers an ideal environment to keep conversations flowing. **RSVP** to help us gauge attendance and become part of a growing network of film professionals and enthusiasts. Though the event begins in the afternoon, the relationships you build here can last well into the night and beyond. **What to Expect:** *Our Wednesday meetup is primarily a large networking event for industry professionals. There’s no set theme, workshop, or speaker. It’s a relaxed gathering where filmmakers, actors, and creatives can connect, discuss projects, share needs, and learn from each other. Conversations flow freely around the table, fostering an environment of growth and camaraderie. Beyond Wednesdays, we also host exclusive events such as table reads, cinematography workshops with Panasonic, member screenings, and more. Each week brings fresh dialogues—some participants discuss their weekend shoots, others exchange insights with seasoned producers and directors, and a few engage in filmmaking exercises. It’s a space designed for creative engagement without strict structure or formal oversight.* *Note: Our community emphasizes collaboration, friendship, and goodwill rather than promotional activities. If you wish to promote a workshop, course, screening, or similar event, please contact the organizers first. Promotional privileges are generally reserved for trusted, long-standing members.
