Could the Federal Budget Cost You Thousands?

## **What every property investor needs to know about the changes happening to negative gearing, capital gains tax and trust taxation — BEFORE the rules change.** The Federal Budget contained several major proposals that could significantly impact how Australians invest in property. Changes have been proposed to: * Negative gearing * Capital gains tax * Discretionary trusts For many investors, these structures form the foundation of their wealth creation strategy. But how would these changes actually work? Who could be affected? What opportunities still exist? And what should investors be thinking about now? At our [Melbourne meetup](https://events.resultsmentoring.com/meetup-vic.html?utm_source=meetup&utm_campaign=drn), **tax specialist Brent McCartney** will break down the proposed changes and explain what they could mean for property investors, developers, renovators and business owners. **What you'll learn...** **Negative Gearing Changes** **Discover:** ✓ What the Government has announced ✓ Which properties may be protected under grandfathering provisions ✓ How the proposed rules could affect future purchases ✓ The implications for investors buying established versus new properties **Capital Gains Tax Changes** **Learn:** ✓ How the current 50% CGT discount could change ✓ The proposed inflation-indexed alternative ✓ What the changes could mean for future property profits ✓ How transitional rules may apply to existing properties **Trust taxation Changes** **Understand:** ✓ The proposed 30% minimum tax on discretionary trusts ✓ Why the Government says the changes are necessary ✓ How family trusts may be affected ✓ Potential restructuring opportunities available during the transition period ✓ Real-world examples illustrating the potential financial impact **[RSVP now to attend FREE in-person or via Zoom](https://events.resultsmentoring.com/meetup-vic.html?utm_source=meetup&utm_campaign=drn)** **Why This Matters** Many investors spend years building portfolios based on rules that can change with a single Budget announcement. The investors who understand the implications early have more options, more time to plan and greater confidence when making future decisions. This session is not about politics. It's about understanding the proposed changes and making informed investment decisions. The proposed Budget changes could have significant implications for how Australians invest, structure and grow their wealth through property. Whether you own one investment property or a large portfolio, this is an opportunity to understand the potential impact before important decisions need to be made. **Important:** If you plan to attend, please click the RSVP link below and register. This helps us manage venue numbers and ensures you receive event reminders. **[RSVP now to attend FREE in-person or via Zoom](https://events.resultsmentoring.com/meetup-vic.html?utm_source=meetup&utm_campaign=drn)** **FAQ's** **-> Can I bring someone else along?** Yes, you are welcome to bring anyone who is interested in property investing, renovating, developing - it's all about learning and networking with like-minded investors. Please ask them to RSVP so that we know how many people are coming. **-> What are you selling?** Nothing, these meetups are all about learning and networking with like-minded people. **-> What are my Parking options?** There is plenty of parking in the street. We look forward to seeing you there. Best regards, – Tony **PS** You can attend in person or online by **[clicking here](https://events.resultsmentoring.com/meetup-vic.html?utm_source=meetup&utm_campaign=drn)**

Make sure to also connect with our community on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/openheartmeditation INTRODUCTION On the surface level Open Heart Meditation is a very simple yet effective way to shut the busy mind down, relax and unwind, and to reconnect with peace. Many people come as a quick way to recharge for the week and to find inner peace. On a deeper level Open Heart Meditation is about opening the heart to know your True Self and to connect with our Creator - the ultimate source of love and life - what we call "True Source". The divine energy from True Source (the Reiki energy) is a beautiful restorative energy of healing, joy, love and blessings. It's suitable for people from all religions because it's non denominational and helps people to better connect with their chosen spiritual path - experientially through the heart (rather than through the head with more thinking and theory). When you are connected to this abundant source of life energy every day, you will in turn receive life more abundantly. It will improve your overall happiness, health, and general well-being. You will find yourself more calm and less reactive; your choices in life will be more sound and centred; and you will be more in line with your True Self - all beyond the limited intelligence of the mind, other worldly wisdoms, and fluctuating emotions. The greater purpose of this practice for those who wish to pursue it beyond relaxation and healing is to return home - back to our Creator from where we all originated from - the ultimate source of life and unconditional love. Open Heart Meditation is therefore very different to many popular types of meditation, such as Mindfulness Meditation for the following reasons: • It does not rely on the mind or observation, or on emotions, but rather it is focused on the heart. We teach you how to easily shut the mind down, to open the heart, and sense from it. • Instead of practicing detachment, we teach you to attach to the source of abundant life first. This will then help you detach from all forms of negativities naturally without any effort. In doing so, this will gradually iron out negative reactive responses, smoothing your life's path. • This blessing, is a gift of Grace and cannot be earned by greater effort. The only thing one can do is to just receive this gift from True Source with an open heart, in gratitude. This group is dedicated to those who would like to learn, practice and share about Open Heart Meditation. Everyone is welcome to join, learn and contribute in a positive, safe and caring environment. :-) For more information about Open Heart Meditation: https://naturalwayofliving.com/wellness-programs/open-heart-meditation/ PERTH TESTIMONIALS "We are so incredibly blessed with Open Heart Meditation - the truth that we've learnt and discovered for ourselves; the lovely community; and what it is doing for our soul permanently. So grateful for this huge blessing. Thank you all for what is coming to my first year with you smiley lot." Ronnie Chua, Perth Australia "Isn't it lovely when you intend to pray for something and immediately feel the love pour down like a bucket of water..Then your heart remembers that the love is everywhere and so you feel like you're swimming in it instead..Now you can't even remember what you were going to pray about because the only 2 words left are 'thank you'" Yalda, Perth, Australia "Before learning about the heart, when I prayed to True Source, it felt flat, and I was never sure if my prayers were heard. I remember how I prayed only when I had problems in my life, or because at school or at church a bunch of us were being told to pray together. Words came out of me without any feeling; I was simply reading prayer lines. Now it is completely different: prayers have become beautiful, and I am able to go into a deep state of connection. I feel how I am communicating with True Source-how my prayers reach up to True Source, Lovingly listening, and are accepted with the beauty of Love." Sunny Tjandrakesuma, Perth, Australia

NLP Practitioner 2024

Hi there, you are very lucky. If you're interested in growing yourself, or your skills as a human being, we have some incredible training available for you in ways never seen before here in Brisbane. This is going to save you a lot of time and you're going to be able to do this far more easily than those before you. Normally the options to do NLP is either online or fly to Sydney/Melbourne. But now, you can do it here. Better still, instead of trying to do it all in one hit and forgetting much of it, we do weekly sessions so you can implement and allow your brain to do its magic better. We do this late on Wednesday nights so you learn and get some uninterrupted time to develop yourself. This is going to fit into your calendar with ease. What is NLP: 'Neuro Linguistic Programming' was discovered in the 70's and is still being developed. So so so much training, personal development, leadership development, coaching, is done utilizing much of what the NLP people discovered in the 70's. Chances are, you've been exposed to it, without even knowing. NLP empowers, enables and teaches us to better understand the way our brain (neuro) responds to the words and world around us. Much like a computer, we use a language (linguistic) to code it all. Then we consciously and unconsciously have repetition and preferences (programming). NLP has been defined as the “users manual for your mind” or "The users manual for minds". Studying NLP gives us insights into how our thinking patterns can affect every aspect of our lives. NLP gives us strategies for observing human behaviour in ANYONE and replicating or modifying the strategies. Essential for becoming excellent at ANYTHING. Sadly, every mega-corporation in the world already studied NLP, hired NLP consultants and are still doing it but to benefit their profit margins not you. They are using it to sell our kids 'Happy Meals', or 'a Mars a day, helps you work, rest and play'. If you think Coca Cola or a beer is refreshing you've had your brain programmed. Thankfully, we can modify that! Personally, I was always curious why so many people buy books on making money, lottery tickets or gambled yet so few became financially free. Curious why so many people wanted to be fitter, or healthier but struggled. And at one point, I went from a long term relationship to single and friendless and got transferred to Brisbane. I was an emotional wreck, afraid to talk to the opposite sex or even make friends in a new city. Yet NLP changed ALL this. It made everything possible. It also enables me, to support those I care about in new ways. Do you really want to be someone that can get struck with fear, anxiety, self-sabotage, procrastination? No. Let's educate ourselves and take control. How is it that you can Help kids or yourself to become a better student!

Too many kids as well as teenagers and adults have problems with study. Today's meetup will inform you about the basics in STUDY TECHNOLOGY that provides an understanding of the basics of learning and supplies exact ways to overcome all the pitfalls one can encounter during study. This is applicable to young children, teenagers (or their parents that are trying to help them) and adults alike. Study Technology shows how one studies in order to comprehend a subject so one can apply it. Laws on which learning is based and workable methods have also been discovered for anyone to apply for themselves or when teaching others. Too many students graduate from school and college unable to put to use what they’ve learned in school. It’s not that they’re stupid or that their teachers didn’t know how to teach. More than likely it traces back to the one thing missing from most educations—learning how to learn in the first place. We all went to school, yet isn’t it odd that no one taught us how to study? The information presented at this meetup can help anyone improve others or his own ability to learn. It is a practical tool that parents and teachers alike can use to enhance a child's study performance. You’ll learn the barriers that lie between your own or a child's education. And you will very quickly learn how to overcome them. This technology will enable you or a child to pursue any subject with skill and confidence. Teachers who have "hard to handle/distributive " or slow learners in class will absolutely love the amazing turn around most often seen in improved behaviour and student performance in class. If you or your child has difficulties at school (or learning new things at work or online) than this meetup is important to you. If you can not make it to our meetup than contact the organizer and arrange it to suit your time. This technology can if one was to live far away be taught online. (extension course) You may offcourse also opt to have this technology taught to your own child by experienced volunteeer staff or learn about this yourself and transfer this knowledge to those you want to have better grades. Yes it is possible to improve anyone's study performance. All it takes is just 5 steps. See you at this meetup. Pam

This is separate to the ticket price.** **Play synopsis:** **A timeless and enduring story of love, commitment, family, and acceptance; that the movie The Birdcage was based on.** **In the shimmering heart of Saint-Tropez lies “La Cage aux Folles” — a drag-cabaret club of glitz, feathers and fabulous high-camp delights. Georges, the club’s suave owner, lives in perfect harmony with Albin — his partner, his star performer, his Zaza.** **But when Georges’ son brings home his fiancée and her ultra-conservative parents for dinner, the peaceful world of glitter and illusion collides head-on with rigid respectability.** **What ensues is a riotous, heart-thumping upheaval of identity, love, performance and family — spiced with thigh-slaps, high heels and one of musical theatre’s most triumphant anthems.** **La Cage aux Folles is a dazzling celebration of being true, being bold, and shining anyway.** **This MeetUp Group is not a registered association or official club. Principally it is a Group with a wide range of activities and events that Event Organisers design to get like-minded people together to complete various activities, rather than on their own, with safety in numbers in mind. Please don’t add people to WhatsApp or other groups. 🔞 Our events are only open to people aged 18 and older. 📢 Please do not advertise other events or groups. 😅 Don’t be a social octopus! – Give people space to chat with others. Please don't be clingy. 🚗 We don't allow carpooling due to safety incidents/our public liability insurance not covering motor related accidents. 💰 No sales pitches! – No selling, no MLMs, no pyramid schemes, no “life-changing mentorship” offers—let’s keep things scam-free. 📸 Cameras welcome, but… – please refrain from taking photos of our members for privacy reasons. By joining this event, you’re giving us a virtual pinky promise 🤝 that you’ll follow the rules. Break them, and—poof!—you’re out for good. No second chances, no do-overs. "Becoming Whole"

**An Introduction to Internal Family Systems-integrating the various parts of yourself to become whole.** Somewhere along the way, most of us learned to push parts of ourselves aside. The part that feels too much. The part that wants too much. The part that's still hurting. The part that doesn't quite fit the life we're trying to build. And slowly, without realising it — we become a little less ourselves. **This class is an invitation to come back.** *** Wholeness isn't about being perfect or having it all figured out. It's about gently gathering yourself back together. Returning to the parts of yourself you've overlooked, silenced or left behind — and discovering that every single part of you has a role, a reason, and a place at the table. When you come home to yourself — everything softens. *** In this warm, welcoming session we'll explore a gentle but powerful framework for understanding your inner world — one that doesn't ask you to fix yourself, but to *know* yourself. To move from fragmented to whole. From self-critical to self-compassionate. From scattered to deeply, quietly at peace with who you are. *** ### In the class you'll explore: * Why you feel fragmented — and why that's completely understandable * The hidden parts of you that are longing to be heard * What it feels like to live from your whole, true Self * How to begin the journey from inner tension to inner wholeness * A gentle guided experience to reconnect with yourself *** ### What to expect: Accessible, story-led teaching with real life examples, a short guided inner experience, and a **30 minute break** midway — a chance to breathe, reflect and connect with others on the same journey toward wholeness. No therapy background needed. No prior knowledge required. Just you — ready to come home to yourself. *** ### This is for you if: * You feel fragmented, scattered or disconnected from yourself * You're ready to release the tension of being at odds with yourself * You're longing for more ease, peace and self-compassion * You want to meet others who are on the same path *** *Facilitated by Alan Carter who practices Internal Family Systems. Alan is very interested in self-development and inner growth-such as Non-Violent Communication by Dr Marshall Rosenberg; Byron Katie "The Work"; Buddhist Philosophy and Practice. He has trained and practiced as Lifeline Counsellor and Mediator* ***

Women's Card Reading Practise Circle

Women's Card Reading Practise Circle

This event is for women to share and practise card reading in a safe and welcoming environment. (And to chat with people who also think cards are cool!) **All skill levels welcome**. Whether it's your first time to open your deck, or you are a skilled professional hoping to test out new spreads, come along. You just need to bring your own deck of cards. LBTQIA friendly. **On the Day** **1.** We start by settling in, chatting, getting ourselves a drink or food. **2.** Once settled, we begin with a circling introduction. **3.** Next we do a meditation together, to ground and tune into our intuition. **4.** Then we separate into pairs and swap short readings. **5.** Once the time is up, we change pairings and swap again, for a longer period of time. We keep swapping readings until it's time to go. **If you're a newbie Trish will set you up with a more experienced reader.** There are materials to help you get started, like card spread booklets and books on card meanings. **Bring a $2 coin** (or send $2 via bank transfer or PayPal beforehand - details at end of description below) and **bring** **your own deck/s**. **Any type of deck is fine**, tarot, lenormand, oracle, angel, pip, gypsy, or even a printed paper version. Whatever you like! Please don't expect to be able to borrow a deck or be provided with one. **If you receive a reading you must give a reading.** This will be noted to ensure everyone has a turn before we swap to new partners for the next reading. **Payment Information** Cash, bank transfer, PayID or PayPal are your payment options. For PayID, use the email address: trishandlenormand@hotmail.com and **make sure to include your name in the description.** **PayPal Instructions** Feel free to send your $2 to: trishandlenormand@hotmail.com via PayPal rather than giving a $2 coin on the day. \*\*\*Put YOUR MEETUP NAME in the description so I know who it's from. \*\*\* CHOOSE "FRIENDS OR FAMILY", not 'Business', as otherwise a quarter of your donation goes to PayPal as a fee. I'd prefer you pay this way prior to, rather than at, the event. You can also pay with PayPal at the start of the event if you forget to do it beforehand, but not afterwards. I don't check the email messages of this account, so if you have sent a normal email message to that address I won't have read it. Read the group description for the rules of the group and **keep your RSVP updated**. For any questions, message me directly through Meetup. Looking forward to meeting you there! This event is held on the last Sunday of each month.

The Blue Trail

Interim Film Buff feature as part of the Spanish Film Festival and I suspect, unmissable! [https://lunapalace.com.au/films/spa26-the-blue-trail](https://lunapalace.com.au/films/spa26-the-blue-trail) O Último Azul *The best-reviewed film of the 2025 Berlinale*, Gabriel Mascaro’s The Blue Trail is a breathtaking cinematic odyssey that follows the misadventures of a remarkable Brazilian woman who, as her working life draws to an end, secretly sets out on a trip down the Amazon to fulfil a long-held dream. In the near future, independent 77-year-old Tereza (the astonishing Denise Weinberg) has lived her whole life in a small, industrialised town, working at a local factory. One day she receives an official government order, forcing relocation to an isolated housing colony where people are brought to ‘enjoy’ their lives in comfort. But Tereza wasn’t expecting the directive yet. Refusing to accept the order, Tereza impulsively decides to embark on a journey down the rivers and tributaries of the Amazon… one that will change her destiny forever. Vividly showcasing both the natural beauty and corruption of the Amazon, this is an enchanting celebration of vitality, resilience and defiance that will make hearts and spirits soar.
