On the third Sunday of every month, the 'Papermakers & Artists of Qld' group meet at the Brisbane Visual Arts Community (BVAC) building in Tarragindi. Given the ongoing building works at the NGA we'll meet just inside the temporary entrance on level 1. **A reminder, this group leaves promptly at 10:30 so if you're late you'll have to find us.** If you can, pop in to the NGA for a quick look to see if there's anything that inspires you to present or if you've already got a talk prepared but are not sure if it's currently on display check out the "On display" site at https://searchthecollection.nga.gov.au/landing then click "View all" which will take you to the 750 or so items on display (around 530 with images) and sort by artist or title to find the one you want. The individual item tells you which gallery the work is in. It's a really convenient way to find a work to pique your interest! As usual, all presentations are most welcome and certainly valued!

Due to the financial pressure of our current climate, rescue centres have never felt more strain. More pets are being surrendered than ever before, while happy homes and donations continue to dwindle. Saying what you actually need, without melting down or shutting down, is hard. For a lot of neurodivergent folks it is even harder: rejection sensitivity, masking, and a lifetime of being told we are "too much" or "too blunt" can leave us stuck between bottling things up and exploding. This month we are getting practical. We will work through two well-tested toolkits for asking for what you want and setting boundaries that stick: **NVC (Nonviolent Communication)**: a simple structure of observation, feeling, need, and request that helps you say the hard thing without blame or apology. **DBT DEARMAN**: a step-by-step script (Describe, Express, Assert, Reinforce, stay Mindful, Appear confident, Negotiate) for getting a request across and holding your ground. Expect plenty of real examples, low-pressure practice, and a chance to workshop a tricky conversation you have been avoiding. No prior knowledge needed. Come as you are, stim freely, step out whenever you need to. This is a relaxed, judgement-free space for neurodivergent adults (ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, and the still-figuring-it-out crowd all welcome). Allies and partners welcome too. This historic site highlights its evolution from a Colonial Georgian-style cottage into a classic Queensland homestead. Demand for the show has been immediate, with both Melbourne dates selling out within four weeks- cementing this as one of the most sought after live music events of the season. A cornerstone of American songwriting, this infamous Marty Robbins album is widely regarded as one of the great early concept records. A vivid cycle of outlaws, lawmen and frontier justice. From the drama of El Paso to the steely tension of Big Iron, it unfolds like a Western film set to music. Leading the posse is Henry Wagons, whose commanding, narrative- driven vocals bring authority and grit to these frontier tales. Emily Lubitz provides contrast and nuance, her unmistakable voice adding warmth and intimacy to the stark landscapes. Backed by members of notorious spaghetti-western ensemble The Counterfeit—renowned for their grand, cinematic interpretations of music from the western frontier—the album will be presented in full, from start to finish.
