🌿 **Take a gentle pause this June as we connect, reflect and explore *Shades of Courage*.** SoulTime offers a welcoming space for **reflection, meaningful conversation and connection** in a peaceful setting overlooking nature. Sessions include gentle music, short readings from diverse cultures, faiths and perspectives, and open discussion around uplifting themes relevant to everyday life. This month, **we'll explore the many different ways courage manifests in our lives** \- from bold leaps of faith to quiet moments of inner strength\. 🌱 To help make SoulTime accessible for families, we are continuing our ***SoulTime Kids*** program! This is a parallel session for primary-aged children that runs while adults attend the main gathering, often exploring similar themes through their own creative, reflective and values-based activities. The kids' session is facilitated by a qualified primary school teacher or youth worker (with current Working with Children Checks). SoulTime remains open to everyone, regardless of background, beliefs or life stage. Light refreshments will be served following the group discussion. We hope you can join us! ☕✨

Due to the financial pressure of our current climate, rescue centres have never felt more strain. More pets are being surrendered than ever before, while happy homes and donations continue to dwindle. Saying what you actually need, without melting down or shutting down, is hard. For a lot of neurodivergent folks it is even harder: rejection sensitivity, masking, and a lifetime of being told we are "too much" or "too blunt" can leave us stuck between bottling things up and exploding. This month we are getting practical. We will work through two well-tested toolkits for asking for what you want and setting boundaries that stick: **NVC (Nonviolent Communication)**: a simple structure of observation, feeling, need, and request that helps you say the hard thing without blame or apology. **DBT DEARMAN**: a step-by-step script (Describe, Express, Assert, Reinforce, stay Mindful, Appear confident, Negotiate) for getting a request across and holding your ground. Expect plenty of real examples, low-pressure practice, and a chance to workshop a tricky conversation you have been avoiding. No prior knowledge needed. Come as you are, stim freely, step out whenever you need to. This is a relaxed, judgement-free space for neurodivergent adults (ADHD, autistic, AuDHD, and the still-figuring-it-out crowd all welcome). Allies and partners welcome too. Bring yourself, bring a situation, and we will figure out the words together.

inkind Helps You to Make Plans for Friendship Brisbane-based folk duo inkind are set to release their second single ‘Lets Make Plans' on the 21st June at Brisbane’s iconic Junk Bar. Through songs of life lived and lessons learned, inkind encourage us to look after ourselves and one another. A heartfelt musical collaboration by Erin & Nate; two seasoned singer-songwriters who each continue to carve their own path across the Australian music landscape (as Miss Elm and Conspiracy of One respectively), brought together by a shared love of storytelling and human connection, their songs weave together themes of compassion, empathy and growth with a wicked sense of humour. 2025 saw some big milestones with the band as they released their debut single ‘Feels Like Home’ to a sell out house concert, received acclaim for their performances at Woodford Folk Club and reached the semi-finals in Listen Up Music’s Songwriting Prize, the Australian Songwriters Association’s songwriting awards and the International Songwriting Competition. Amongst the colder swirls, we’re bringing together a colourful mix of Music in Exile alumni along with local friends for an EOFY fundraiser from 2 til 9pm at the Evelyn in Fitzroy. We’ve a stacked lineup of live performances, DJs, and a raffle draw somewhere in the mix ~ all raising funds to support our varied, artist-centred activities that carve space and sustainable futures for artists living through the stories of diaspora and displacement.
