Ruby Jones and her band return to the stage at Northcote Social Club to celebrate the release of her second album, Souvenir, a powerful and deeply reflective new body of work. Continuing the poetic, emotionally raw songwriting of her acclaimed 2021 debut The Woman Who Loves You, Ruby has cemented her place as one of Australia’s most compelling voices. Across Souvenir, Ruby expands her lyrical world, exploring intergenerational trauma, climate anxiety and cycles of rebirth through sweeping arrangements and striking, image-rich songwriting. Shaped in part by her experience of the 2019 East Gippsland bushfires, the record sits in the tension between devastation and renewal, holding space for grief, longing, and a quiet, determined tenderness toward what remains. There is a deep sense of place woven throughout, as personal histories and environmental realities intertwine, giving the songs both an intimate emotional core and a broader, collective resonance. The result is a work that feels at once deeply personal and quietly political, a meditation on loss, resilience, and the fragile beauty of the natural world. Join Ruby and her 7-piece band for a special full-band performance, bringing Souvenir to life on stage for the very first time in its most expansive and immersive form. Ruby’s live show has drawn comparisons to Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell and Florence Welch, capturing a similarly powerful blend of storytelling, atmosphere and emotional intensity. She’ll be joined on the night by Melbourne singer-songwriter Riley Catherall, whose poetic sincerity and captivating live shows have earned him a growing reputation as one of the country’s most promising emerging artists. THIS SHOW IS STRICTLY 18+ Northcote Social Club strives to create a safe space that everyone can enjoy. Crowd surfing & dangerous behaviour will result in removal from the venue.
