Join us at Gang Gang August 15th for a wholesome, relaxed Sunday evening out of the bush capital cold. Warm embraces from friends and the music of Jess High, Drive Safe and dog-world are sure to be the perfect end to a mid winter weekend, knowing another work week is ahead. Doors at 6pm, tickets $10 dog-world plays a cosmic blend of postpunk, jangle pop and jazz. the four-piece have made waves in canberra since forming in early 2020, with their trademark raw, energetic performance style encasing an inimitable sonic intricacy. dog-world is one to watch, a chameleon body of musicians that are unbound by genre and just like to have fun. Recognisable as the saucy side piece of iconic Canberra bands Slagatha Christie and Endrey, Jess High has finally put together a solo set to tingle your earlobes. She’s earned her stripes in the Canberra scene for the past four years as a bassist and backing vocalist, and it’s about time we see her vocals at peak capacity. Lay in the lavender scented bath of Jess’s thick, husky voice as she weaves unusual tales of heartbreak and misadventure. It’s an unpredictable mish-mash of folk, punk and neo-soul, and it’s guaranteed to be a heartfelt whale of a time. Drive Safe is an emo-pop project focusing on songs about anxiety, distance and care. They draw from a range of indie rock and synth-pop influences - resulting in a nostalgic DIY sound that touches on their Melbourne roots. Their love songs for the Hume highway and pure sincerity make for a set that is well worth checking out. Licensed / All Ages - Gang Gang Cafe is an accessible venue - with ground level entry, indoor and outdoor seating, and vegan / GF foods available for purchase. This event is a safe space, with zero tolerance for inappropriate, discriminatory and anti-social behaviour, and anyone behaving as such is not welcome.
