"Doesn't matter what else is going on, Matilda Duncan's got a way to capture your whole attention like nothing else exists". Claire Mooney, Triple J Music Director. MATILDA DUNCAN Matilda Duncan is back with a new EP, and she's launching it with a full live band show on Saturday May 23rd at The Workers Club. The singles from the EP (10 Seconds of Silence and 'Grocery Store' have already garnered more than 1,000 playlist adds on Spotify as well as being featured on Triple J’s ‘Home and Hosed’ with Ash McGregor. Instantly recognisable and heartbreakingly relatable, twenty-four year old Matilda Duncan’s music intertwines folk, indie, rock, alternative and pop, with no shortage of soaring bridges, drenched in warm arrangements of reverb-soaked guitars. Matilda first came on the scene as a teenager, winning a Triple J Unearthed competition in 2018, supporting platinum-selling Australian band The Rubens' on their national tour and appearing at ‘Groovin the Moo’ festival. She went on to tour and perform with some of Australian music’s biggest names (Vera Blue, Ruby Fields, Thirsty Merc, Katie Noonan, Kim Churchill). In 2023 Matilda completed 2 interstate tours while recording remotely to the USA in collaboration with Nash Chambers, and has been working toward the release of her 2026 EP with producers Cam Nacson and Melbourne local JT McRae (Japanese Wallpaper, Gretta Ray, Seb Szabo, CLEWS). Now, you get to hear what comes next for this generational talent. EMMA YUE Supporting Matilda is the incredible Emma Yue - an indie folk songstress based in Naarm and self-confessed purveyor of the phrase 'do it for the plot’. Emma Yue's music is for catharsis. Blending unnerving confessional honesty and mid 20s chaos together in folk-pop laced with indie-rock, her artistic journey is just beginning, and the momentum is unmistakable.
