I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which I walk, the Dharawal people, and respect their culture and elders past, present and emerging. **🏞️About:** This is a picturesque walk through the north western corner of the second oldest national park in the world, the Royal National Park. **🏞️Time, Meeting place:** ***8.35am***, **[Heathcote Station, Platform 2](https://tinyurl.com/4x9u4jnh)**. **🏞️Route:** We start from Heathcote Station & head down to Karloo Pools. Then ascend to Uloola Falls. After taking a break at the falls we follow the track to Robertson Knoll Lookout with an amazing vista of the Hacking River & surrounding bushland. Downhill after that to Audley for lunch with cafe, toilets and water refill. After lunch we cross Audley Weir, stretch our lazy lunch legs & ascend Honeymoon Track up to the old tramline & take Parade Trail to Loftus Station. We should finish around 1.30pm. 🏞️**Distance:** 16km **🏞️Type of walk:** Bushwalking on established tracks, firetrails. steps and a couple of short steep uphill sections. **🏞️Difficulty:** Hard because of the terrain. There are 2 steep ascents with total elevation gain of 406m. You will need a good level of fitness to participate. If you don't like "hills" this is not the walk for you. If you have any doubts about your fitness, please do not attend. **🏞️Walking pace:** We should average 4 to 4.5 km per hour. **🏞️What to bring:** * Trailwalker shoes with good grip * 1.5 litres of water, optional hydralytes * Carbohydrate snacks and lunch * Light rain jacket depending on conditions * Sunscreen and a cap or hat with a wide brim * Eagerness to explore **🏞️Public Transport:** ***7.37am*** train from [Central Station, Platform ](https://tinyurl.com/yuu83vfs)25. Arrives at **8.29am** [Heathcote Station, Platform 2](https://tinyurl.com/4x9u4jnh). Trains back to the city at the finish of the walk are from [Loftus Station](https://tinyurl.com/2p86nsmp) leaving every 30 minutes. **🏞️Driving:** Park at or near [Loftus Station](https://tinyurl.com/2p86nsmp) & join us for the *8.22am* train to the start of the walk at Heathcote. That way your car will be there at the end of the walk. **🏞️Gratuity:** There will be a $10 cash gratuity for this walk. Pay ID alternatively. ***SAFETY WARNING:*** Please stay away from cliff edges and be very careful when walking on wet and slippery rocks and surfaces.
