This group is a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ individuals in Sydney who come from Christian or spiritual backgrounds. Many of us have experienced the tension between our faith and our identity — growing up in environments where being gay and believing in God didn’t seem to coexist. This space exists to change that. Whether you identify as Catholic, Evangelical, Christian, spiritual, or are simply exploring your relationship with God, you are welcome here. This is a space to: • Share your journey without judgment • Connect with others who understand your experience • Explore faith, spirituality, and identity in an open and supportive way • Heal, grow, and rediscover your relationship with God (in your own way) There is no expectation to believe or think a certain way — this group is about openness, respect, and authenticity. ✨ Our plan is to host monthly catch-ups in a relaxed and friendly environment. This is NOT an anti-church group About the organiser: Jonas Paz was raised in a deeply religious environment, with a Catholic father and a Christian mother. Growing up, being gay didn’t feel like an option, which led to years of internal struggle between his faith and identity. Through his personal journey, Jonas began to redefine his relationship with spirituality. After moving to Australia, he embraced a broader perspective — seeing himself as a spiritual person on a path of connection with God, the Creator, or the Universe. He believes that religion, churches, and spiritual practices are not the destination, but pathways that can lead people toward something greater. This group was created to offer others a space he once needed — a place where no one has to choose between their faith and who they are.
