It’s about building community, creating opportunities and proving that you don’t need permission to start making your mark.Bringing together a lineup of some of Melbourne’s most exciting emerging acts, DIY showcases a diverse mix of pop, blues, folk, funk, soul and alternative sounds from artists carving out their own lane in the local scene.Melbourne-based artist Samantha Chard blends heartfelt emotion with unapologetic “drama queen” storytelling, turning the chaos and intensity of teenage life into bold, relatable anthems. Following local radio support for her debut single “Paper Sheets” and the boundary-pushing release of “Drunk Divinity,” Samantha is quickly becoming a standout new voice in Melbourne’s next wave of artists.Christian Elijah brings a raw and honest sound shaped by American blues, folk, country and rock, layered with a grunge undercurrent. Inspired by songwriters like Blaze Foley and Townes Van Zandt alongside the energy of Eddie Vedder, his music captures something deeply human, imperfect, vulnerable and real.Bringing the rhythm and chaos in equal measure is JK and the Home Team - a funk-soul-blues project led by guitarist and vocalist Justin “JK” Kim.
