<strong>Artificial </strong>(<strong>Nicole Skeltys</strong>) is an influential Australian musician and producer known for the pioneering electro-femme duo <strong>B(if)tek </strong>and her solo project <strong>Artificial</strong>. With <strong>Kate Crawford</strong>, B(if)tek created raw, analogue-driven electronica; “feminism with a wink and a bleep.”<p>In the late ’90s and early 2000s, Skeltys’ solo work took a more freeform turn, experimenting with an eccentric mixture of deep analogue bleeps, hillbilly house, fizzy disco and arthouse movie samples. This sound shaped two mash-up albums <em>Electro-Lollipop-<wbr>Explosion</em> and <em>Libraries Are Fun </em>and<em> </em><em>Stoner Classix Vol. 1–3</em> vinyl series, with tracks recently reissued by European labels <strong>Tonal Oceans</strong> (Netherlands) and <strong>Turned Tapes</strong> (UK).</p>
