Comedian and presenter Annie Louey (as seen on ABC TV and SBS) makes her Darwin debut, bringing her best and freshest material in an hour of high-energy stand-up. Annie has had a pretty full-on couple of years. She moved to Hong Kong, performed around Asia, had a major operation and became an even stronger comedian (not physically though, as she has yet to regain that kind of strength). Now, Annie is back on Australian soil and ready to entertain you with a show filled with hilarious stories, original crowd work and relatable topics. Annie has appeared on the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's 'Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow' and has been profiled on an episode of 'Australian Story' (ABC TV). She recently wrote and hosted a documentary titled 'Cross Border Comedy' about the emerging stand-up scene in Asia. **Early Bird Price $25pp - Ends 30 April**

Donna Deitch's swooning and sensual first narrative feature, DESERT HEARTS, was groundbreaking upon its release in 1985: a love story about two women, made entirely independently, on a shoestring budget, by a woman. In this 1959-set film, adapted from a beloved novel by Jane Rule, straitlaced East Coast professor Vivian Bell arrives in Reno to file for divorce but winds up catching the eye of someone new, the free-spirited young Cay, touching off a slow seduction that unfolds against a breathtaking desert landscape. With undeniable chemistry between its two leads, an evocative jukebox soundtrack, and vivid cinematography by Robert Elswit, DESERT HEARTS beautifully exudes a sense of tender yearning and emotional candor. Winner of a Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Nominated for Best Female Lead at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.
