Influenced by sounds and cultural movements from across the globe, AKASA’s music is both relevant and empowering. Formed in 1998, AKASA performed, toured, and recorded together nationally and internationally for 15 years. Recently, after a 10-year hiatus, they have reunited in song, enjoying their soulful sisterhood and reigniting their passion for original vocal and percussion repertoire.
