This course has been designed to further enhance the professional development of nurses working in acute clinical settings (Coordinators, HDUs, EDs or UCCs, Recovery rooms, ICUs etc., who may be faced with patients who show signs of significant clinical deterioration or require high acuity monitoring. For those who have attended the 1 day Recognising and Responding to Clinical Deterioration Course (preferable but not essential), this course builds on the respiratory knowledge by incorporating ABG, CXR interpretation and NIV. It also expands on Cardiovascular knowledge by incorporating fluid resuscitation, blood products, simplifying pro/anticoagulants and management of Acute Coronary Syndromes.
