The NGAA Federal Meeting is a cornerstone event in the National Growth Areas Alliance advocacy calendar. Each year, an NGAA delegation of mayors, councillors and senior officers travels to Canberra to participate in a program of targeted meetings with Federal ministers, MPs and key national stakeholders. The day provides a critical opportunity to present a unified national voice for Australia’s growth areas, grounded in evidence and local experience. The 2026 Federal Meeting will focus on the policy settings, funding frameworks and partnerships required to support the delivery of housing, infrastructure and liveable communities in Australia’s fastest‑growing urban regions. Delegates will engage directly with decision‑makers to reinforce the national significance of growth areas and advocate for practical, solutions‑focused outcomes. Why attend Direct engagement with Federal ministers, MPs and senior advisors Influence national policy and funding decisions affecting growth areas Strengthen relationships and raise the collective voice of NGAA members Be part of a coordinated, high‑impact advocacy effort in Canberra Who should attend Elected members and senior executives from NGAA member and associate councils, including mayors, councillors and CEOs.
