We sing a range of pop\, sou l and gospel songs that you'll love to sing and that our audiences will lo ve to hear. Our secret weapon lies in the way we do things - our rehearsal s are judgement-free places where you can sing in safety regardless of exp erience or ability.\n\nSo\, Payneham - let's get singing!\n\nNew members f rom 18 upwards are welcome at any time and your first rehearsal is FREE so you can check us out without obligation.\n\nOur members are teachers\, el ectricians\, nurses\, lawyers\, business owners\, students\, retirees and retail workers - we have quite a few mums and daughters/mums and sons/dads and daughters/sets of sisters too so it's a great way to stay connected w ith your family and have fun together! Some have a heap of musical experie nce when they come to us but the majority have little or none.\n\nEverythi ng about Soul Song is designed to make life easy for you. We know you're b usy so there are no committees and no expectation for you to come to every single rehearsal - you just come when you feel like singing.\n\nWhat's ev en better is that there are no auditions and you don't even have to be abl e to read music. We teach all the songs by ear in a fun and relaxed atmosp here and we provide you with all the lyrics you need as well as some addit ional resources for those who want to practice on their own during the wee k.\n\nThe songs we sing are generally pop songs from all eras but with som e gospel\, Motown and soul thrown in. We sing generally in three or four p art harmony and with either professional backing tracks or a cappella (whi ch means without instruments).\n\nWe are on a mission just to get people s inging by providing a fun and funky space for people of all musical experi ence to sing together music that is good for the soul.\n\nBut be warned - we play as hard as we sing!\n\n***\n\nTHE REHEARSAL EXPERIENCE\n\nSoul Son g Adelaide - Payneham\, directed by Brianna Teehan\, rehearses on Friday a fternoons.\n\nWe start singing at 12.30pm but we are set up and ready to g o from 12.00pm\, so you are welcome to come in a bit early to say hi and g et set up and settled in. Rehearsals go through until 2.30pm\, with a 15 m inute social break. Please BYO mug and choice of tea or coffee\; we will p rovide hot water\, milk and sugar.\n\nRehearsals are primarily about worki ng on repertoire and building vocal technique but we try to mix things up each week to keep them interesting and we also work a lot in smaller secti ons to help songs progress faster.\n\nThose who come the most often get th e most out of Soul Song but there is no expectation for people to come eve ry single week and we have lots of resources available for those who miss a week or a few to help them catch up if they want to. You'll get more inf ormation on this when you join\, but these include online rehearsals\, reh earsals recordings\, audio learning tracks\, video tutorials\, sheet music \, technical tutorials and more.\n\nYour first rehearsal is FREE so you ca n come along and check us out without obligation. Once you sign up as a me mber and pay your fees\, you can attend as many rehearsals a week online o r in person as you want. You can pay by the term ($205 standard or $133 co ncession/under 30s) or on a weekly recurring subscription basis ($18 stand ard or $12 concession/under 30s). Concession rates apply to students\, con cession card holders\, pensioners etc and under 30s with our #under30perks \n\nWe will give you a member pack with a lyric book and access to all the resources you need once you've signed up.
